Job Description

As a Lead Engineer in Plant Control & Instrumentation at Baker Hughes, you will have the opportunity to lead Instrumentation and control system design activities for various process application projects such as high efficiency Combined Cycle Power Generation projects, Natural Gas Liquefaction, and Compression, Carbon capture, and more. Your role will involve developing basic, requisition, and detailed designs of the Balance Of Plant (BOP) Instrumentation and control, following contractual specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. Your responsibilities will include performing design activities like engineering documentation and purchase specifications for Automation Systems, managing engineering external agencies and equipment selection, supporting Design to Inquiry phase and Application Engineers during the bid phase, collaborating with the project team, attending technical and business reviews, participating in meetings with Customers as required, and providing timely communications on significant issues or possible improvements. Additionally, you will participate in organization initiatives and company programs. To excel in this role, you should hold a BE/BTech OR ME/MTech OR Full-time Diploma in Control/Instrumentation OR Electrical/Energy Engineering, along with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Control & Instrumentation Design. You should have proven working experience in an engineering position, knowledge of Industrial Plant Control & Instrumentation Systems, and be proficient in Control systems HW and SW documentation, Control Architecture, I/O list, Functional description, Flow chart, Cause & Effects, and Logical Diagrams. Your ability to work with multidisciplined cross-functional teams in a global matrix environment, excellent problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills will be key to your success in this role.
