Lead Engineer

This is primarily an individual contributor role, though you'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior developers. You'll drive high-impact projects, steer technical vision, and play a key role in setting engineering excellence standards across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and build scalable, robust applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
• Lead system design discussions, drive best practices, and be the technical authority on architecture and problem-solving.
• Write clean, efficient, and high-performance codeset the standard for hands-on engineering.
• Mentor junior developers, provide code reviews, and help upskill the team; foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, etc.) to boost productivity and innovation.
• Participate in technical strategy, help define CI/CD and DevOps processes, and ensure pragmatic adoption of new tech.
• Tackle tough engineering challenges with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver features in a fast-paced product environment.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of product development experience, preferably in a start-up or fast-paced setup.
• Solid hands-on expertise in MERN stack; proven track record of building and scaling backend and frontend modules from scratch.
• Strong grasp of system design principles, architecture patterns, and modern SDLC practices.
• Demonstrated excellence in DSA and problem-solving.
• Experience using AI/Gen AI tools for development is a big plus.
• A passion for hands-on coding, creating impact, and continuous learning.
• Bonus: Experience in HealthTech, low-code/no-code platforms, or exposure to DevOps and cloud-native architectures.
