Description
The Lead Engineer - Capital Equipment will oversee the entire lifecycle of capital equipment projects, from initial concept to procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and initial production ramp-up. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, meets global safety and industry standards, and delivers the expected return on investment. Additionally, you will be responsible for enhancing equipment performance, reducing downtime, and managing the capital expenditure for all equipment-related initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the acquisition and project lifecycle of capital equipment. This includes identifying equipment requirements, evaluating options, selecting suppliers, and ensuring that the new equipment meets specifications, quality standards, and operational objectives. You will also oversee the development, procurement, scheduling, and costs associated with capital equipment projects. Collaboration with the Operations team will be essential to optimize the utilization of capital equipment and enhance productivity for all new equipment acquisitions. You will identify opportunities to enhance safety, performance, efficiency, and reliability of new equipment through upgrades and process enhancements. Monitoring equipment performance through regular inspections, data analysis, and reporting will also be part of your responsibilities. As the Lead Engineer, you will lead and manage capital equipment projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed within set timelines, budgets, and specific requirements. Effective coordination with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Quality, Maintenance, NPC, R&D, and Supply Chain will be crucial for project success. You will also be required to manage contractors, vendors, and service providers throughout the project lifecycle and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and risks. Tracking and managing capital expenditure for equipment-related projects and preparing detailed cost-benefit analyses for new equipment procurements or upgrades will be part of your cost control and reporting responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards for all capital equipment projects, conducting risk assessments, and developing safety procedures will be essential to mitigate potential risks. In addition, providing training for operators, maintenance personnel, and other staff on new equipment installations and serving as a technical resource for troubleshooting and improvements related to capital equipment will also be part of your role. **Essential Functions of the Role**: No physical requirements specified **Work Experience Requirements**: - 8-12 years of experience in managing capital equipment in manufacturing, production, or engineering settings. - Proven track record of overseeing equipment-related projects from inception to completion. - Experience in managing high-value complex equipment projects. **Skills**: - Proficiency in capital equipment project lifecycle management. - Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination. - Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities for complex equipment systems. - Familiarity with CAD software, data analysis tools, and project management software. - Effective communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration. **Education Requirements**: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Plastics, or Electrical/Controls Engineering. - Master's degree in project management or manufacturing systems is advantageous. - ASQ Green/Black Belt Certification is a plus. **Mode**: Hybrid **Location**: Gurugram,
