About the Role

The AI Security Assistant is an interactive security assistant that leverages generative AI (GenAI) and large language models (LLMs) to provide added context and assistance within the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal. It allows for natural language interaction, enabling customers to ask questions and gain more context about their security environment.

As it continues to evolve through its beta phase, incorporating feedback from users and expanding its skill set, it is poised to become an indispensable asset for Arctic Wolf customers seeking to bolster their security capabilities.

We re seeking a Lead AI Engineer to design and build the next generation of intelligent, autonomous security systems. In this role, you ll combine deep expertise in AI, multi-agent architectures, and cybersecurity to create scalable, secure, and adaptive solutions that strengthen enterprise defenses. You ll lead technical strategy, guide a high-performing engineering team, and drive innovation at the intersection of AI and Cybersecurity.

• Own the technical roadmap and architecture for backend systems and full-stack integrations.

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs.

• Design and develop multi-agent AI workflows to automate and enhance complex cybersecurity capabilities.

• Architect and implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tools to support AI-driven workflows.

• Implement advanced prompting techniques, RAG, and few-shot learning to improve detection accuracy and contextual reasoning.

• Champion engineering excellence by enforcing best practices in code quality, security, performance, and reliability.

• Lead technical planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews to ensure alignment with product and business goals.

• Drive system design discussions, make architectural decisions, and guide teams through technical trade-offs.

• Partner with DevOps, Security, and Product teams to ensure efficient, secure, and observable systems.

• Lead incident response and root cause analysis, and implement improvements to increase system resilience.

• Mentor and coach developers across experience levels, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and accountability.

• Continuously improve team processes and tools, supporting Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.

• 8+ years of backend development experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or lead developer role.

• Experience designing RAG pipelines, Agentic AI workflows, and AI-driven automation for enterprise environments.

• Expertise in programming languages such as Python/Java/Go.

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed system design.

• Experience with relational, NoSQL and Vector databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Faiss DB).

• Proficiency in performance tuning, asynchronous programming, and multithreading.

• Hands-on experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.

• Solid grasp of security principles including authentication, authorisation, and secure coding practices.

• Proficiency with AWS services such as Lambda, Bedrock, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and ECS .

• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) and cloud-native architecture.

• Experience in building scalable Agentic AI workflows or Conversational AI

• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

• Passion for cybersecurity and interest in security operations.

• Strong Git proficiency and experience managing branching strategies and code collaboration workflows.

• Experience working across the stack, with a solid understanding of React/TypeScript front-end architecture.
