Role Summary

As a Data Engineer at PalTech, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines that ensure the smooth flow of data across systems. You will work with SQL and any leading ETL tools (such as Informatica, ADF, etc.) to support data integration and transformation. Your role will include working on data warehouse architectures, performing performance tuning, and ensuring data accuracy and quality across different stages of the data lifecycle.

Youll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, an understanding of data architecture principles, and a passion for clean, reliable data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using SQL and any ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, ADF, etc.).
• Build and optimize data warehouse and data lake solutions to support reporting, analytics, and operational needs.
• Strong understanding of Data warehousing concepts
• Experienced in handling large datasets, load strategies and update strategies
• Collaborate with data analysts, business users, and data scientists to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Implement data quality checks and validation mechanisms to ensure integrity and consistency.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and ETL/ELT jobs.
• Work with structured and semi-structured data from various sources.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain documentation of data pipelines, data flows, and data definitions.
• Adhere to best practices in data engineering, including security, logging, and error handling.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Background

  : Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
• Experience with any ETL tools (e.g., Azure, Fabric, Synapse, AWS, GCP, Informatica, Talend, ADF).
• Experience with data warehouse solutions (like BigQuery/ Redshift/ Snowflake)
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience in

  Python

  or equivalent programming language

• Experience:

  6 to 8 years of relevant experience in data engineering and ETL development.

• Tools

  : Experience with RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.), version control systems, and job schedulers.

• Soft Skills

  : Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
