Lead Data Architect

The Data Architect Lead utilizes extensive technical expertise to spearhead the design and implementation of data architecture solutions focused on orchestrating data pipelines, ingestion, transformation, and accessibility within a hybrid-cloud environment. Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and leadership in our dealer network, this role validates requirements for data process changes and recommends scalable, governance-aligned solutions. The position leads the design, development, maintenance, and testing of cloud solution components and data pipelines to ensure alignment with business strategy and compliance requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Data Architecture Design

Lead and review architecture solutions, thoroughly analyze needs, explore alternatives, and secure stakeholder buy-in. Deliver robust data architectures, governance policies, and support aligned with business strategy and best practices.

Project Management

Manage requirements, plan, and execute projects by setting priorities and schedules. Ensure timely, high-quality delivery meeting customer expectations.

Maintain Existing Data Structures

Sustain and improve current data structures and pipelines according to agreed service levels and business needs, applying advanced data modeling and design skills.

Data Analysis Development

Develop curriculum and educational materials; lead training sessions to enhance capabilities of Data Architects and Engineers. Serve as a subject matter expert and business resource.

HYG & Regulatory Compliance

Understand and implement HYG, GDPR, and other international data governance policies to ensure solutions comply with all regulatory requirements. Stay abreast of evolving data governance landscapes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Experience:

  Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in data architecture and engineering with proven mastery in systems design and implementation.

• Technical Skills:

• Data Design & Normalization: Strong ability to design efficient, normalized database schemas reducing redundancy and improving data integrity.
  
• Data Analysis: Skilled in extracting actionable insights from complex datasets.
  
• Data Pipeline Development: Expertise in tools such as Informatica (preferred).
  
• Data Engineering: Proficient in SQL, T-SQL, or Python for data processing and storage in SQL Server or equivalent environments.
  
• Cloud Architecture: Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, especially Microsoft Azure and Data Lakes.
  
• Business Analysis: Excellent communication skills to translate technical solutions into business needs and vice versa.
  
• Agile Project Management: Experience or formal training in Agile methodologies.
