Lead Android Engineer

Essential Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Lead and oversee business-critical IT projects, ensuring adherence to policies, timelines, and quality standards.
  
• Apply expertise in DevOps, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies to design and deliver secure, resilient, high-volume, cloud-based solutions.
  
• Drive project execution by developing work plans, coordinating resources, and resolving complex technical challenges.
  
• Serve as the technical expert throughout the software release lifecycle, guiding teams and ensuring smooth delivery.
  

Solution Design & Development

• Translate business needs and functional requirements into scalable architecture, technical designs, and production-ready code.
  
• Develop and enhance native Android applications using Java/Kotlin and modern architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM).
  
• Collaborate with architects and product teams to design flexible, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  
• Integrate APIs, services, and third-party libraries while ensuring adherence to coding standards and security guidelines.
  

Quality Engineering & Support

• Lead component integration testing (CIT), UAT support, defect triage, and performance validation.
  
• Develop and execute complex test scenarios to ensure software quality and functional accuracy.
  
• Implement automated UI tests using Espresso and review technical specifications and documentation.
  
• Provide production support, troubleshoot complex incidents, and ensure timely issue resolution.
  

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  
• Provide technical consultation and mentorship to engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  
• Influence decisions through technical expertise and ensure alignment across engineering, product, and business teams.
  

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  (Equivalent work experience may be considered)
  

Experience

• 8+ years in software development, with hands-on experience in enterprise application delivery.
  
• 5+ years working across SDLC and Agile development environments.
  
• 5+ years developing and deploying native mobile applications.
  
• 4+ years Android programming using

  Java/Kotlin (mandatory)

  .
• 3+ years using Gradle/Maven or similar dependency management tools.
  
• 3+ years integrating APIs and third-party libraries.
  
• 2+ years technical leadership experience.
  
• 2+ years automated UI testing using

  Espresso

  .
• 2+ years working with CMS platforms like

  Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

  or similar.

Technical Requirements

• Expert in

  native Android development

  , Android SDK, Kotlin/Java, and MVVM architecture.
• Experienced with Espresso for UI automation.
  
• Solid understanding of REST services, security, scalable app design, and CI/CD.
  
• Familiar with DevOps tooling and cloud deployment practices.
