Lead AI Engineer

As an experienced Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for owning the full stack of the company's products. This includes architecting, implementing, and maintaining backend services in Python/Django and modern frontend SPAs in React. You will also lead and mentor the engineering team by establishing best practices, conducting code reviews, and coaching junior developers or contractors as the team grows. Key Responsibilities: - Architect, implement, and maintain backend services in Python/Django and modern frontend SPAs in React - Lead and mentor the engineering team by establishing best practices and conducting code reviews - Prototype and productionize RAG pipelines using Haystack, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, and orchestration tools - Collaborate directly with clients to translate ambiguous business problems into technical roadmaps - Design CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization, monitoring, and observability for cloud deployments - Implement testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e), enforce secure-by-default coding, and manage data privacy throughout the ML lifecycle Qualifications Required: - 3+ years of professional experience with Django and a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework (React preferred) - Fluent in SQL, REST/GraphQL, Git workflows, containerization, and cloud services - Hands-on experience with frameworks like Haystack, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent for building LLM apps - Ability to thrive in early-stage ambiguity and turn sketches or paragraphs into shippable software - Strong communication skills with the ability to write crisp design docs and explain complex ideas without jargon - Comfortable working solo across time zones, setting realistic estimates, and delivering on them The company offers remote-first flexibility with hybrid work options from a centrally located office space.
