Job Description

As the Lead Accountant at BMC Helix in India, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the accounting functions and financial reporting process. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the integrity of accounting records, ensuring accurate posting of transactions in compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements. Key Responsibilities: - Manage General Ledger functions to ensure accurate GAAP-based entries and reconciliations. - Lead month/year-end close activities by posting journal entries and performing variance analysis. - Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, cash flow) while ensuring compliance with US GAAP/Ind AS/IGAAP. - Handle direct and indirect tax computations, journal entries, and tax filings. - Ensure compliance with SOX/internal controls and support audits with documentation. - Drive process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and streamline processes. - Mentor junior staff and assist in training activities. - Support management with special projects and financial analysis. Qualifications Required: - Education: CA with 6 to 8 years of experience. - Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle) and MS Office, particularly Excel. - Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working Conditions: - Full-time position. - Office environment with occasional remote work flexibility. - May require overtime during peak periods such as month-end and year-end closings.
