Lathe Operator

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate conventional or CNC lathe machines to produce parts as per design drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
• Set up tools, chucks, fixtures, and workpieces correctly on the machine.
• Measure and inspect machined components using instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Maintain required machining tolerances and surface finishes.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of the lathe machine.
• Report any deviations, tool wear, or machine issues to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of tools and raw materials.
• Follow safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Assist in continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist or Fitter trade.
• 2–5 years of experience operating lathe machines (conventional or CNC).
• Good knowledge of machining processes and measuring instruments.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand tolerances.
• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge of machines.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.

Working Conditions:

• Factory environment.
• Requires standing for long hours and manual handling of materials.
• Shift work may be required depending on production demand.

Pay: ₹9,584.36 - ₹35,000.00 per month
