You'llLocation: Chennai, India (on-site at our new HRGF office) About HRGF HRGF is a fast-growing Engineering consultancy & Tech company for meeting Saudi Arabia's 2030 vision. Weve just opened our new Chennai office and are building out a team to deliver the best enterprise web applications. Role Overview: You'll take ownership of backend development in our Laravel-based systems while also applying your Node.js experience in building scalable services and APIs. Youll collaborate with other engineers and product owners to deliver core features and help evolve our growing codebase. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain backend features using Laravel and PHP Build RESTful APIs and backend services for internal and external use Contribute to architecture decisions, database design, and performance tuning Leverage Node.js for specific modules and microservices as needed Write clean, tested, and maintainable code using modern best practices Participate in code reviews, deployments, and team discussions Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Frontend to deliver full-stack features Must-Have Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience 2+ years of hands-on Laravel development in production environments 3+ years of experience with Node.js (Express, NestJS or similar) Strong understanding of MVC frameworks, REST APIs, and relational databases Familiarity with Git-based workflows, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Nice-to-Have: Experience with Docker, Redis, or queue systems Familiarity with Vue.js, React, or other frontend frameworks Basic cloud deployment experience (e.g., AWS, DigitalOcean) What We Offer: Competitive salary aligned with the Chennai market Flexible hours (with core overlap) A brand-new office and a close-knit team Friendly and open work environment Personal improvement plans tailored to your goals Interview Process: 1-Take-Home Assignment Deliverables: Git repo link, README with setup & running steps Timeline: 7 days Technical Interview (Zoom/Google Meet) Format: Live walkthrough of your submitted code + Q&A Duration: ~60 minutes Focus: API and database design decisions Use of Laravel and Node.js in your project Coding style, testing, and error handling Software engineering fundamentals Role: Backend Developer (Laravel + Node.js) Industry Type: IT Services & Consulting Department: Engineering - Software & QA Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Role Category: Software Development Education UG: Any Graduate Key Skills Laravel, PHP, Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, MySQL, Git, Docker, API Development, Software Engineering
