Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Laboratory Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the QC laboratory.
  • Ensure all testing activities are performed as per standards and protocols.
  • Maintain lab discipline, cleanliness, and safety compliance.

2. Sample Management

  • Receive, label, and log incoming samples for testing.
  • Allocate samples to technicians based on priority.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of samples.

3. Testing & Analysis

  • Supervise and conduct chemical, physical, and mechanical tests as required.
  • Ensure all tests follow standard methods (ISO, ASTM, BIS, internal SOPs).
  • Validate test results and ensure accuracy before release.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain complete test records, logs, and certificates of analysis (COA).
  • Review and approve test reports before submitting to production/QA.
  • Ensure proper documentation as per audit requirements.

5. Equipment Calibration & Maintenance

  • Ensure all laboratory instruments and equipment are calibrated regularly.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Keep calibration certificates updated and available for audits.

6. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure testing procedures meet regulatory and customer standards.
  • Implement and monitor internal QC processes and quality systems.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits.

7. Team Supervision & Training

  • Supervise lab technicians and assign daily tasks.
  • Train staff on testing methods, instrument usage, and safety guidelines.
  • Evaluate performance and maintain skill development plans.
