Lab Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented School Laboratory Technician to support our K-12 science curriculum by maintaining safe, well-equipped laboratories and assisting in the smooth conduct of practical sessions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about science education, safety, and hands-on learning, ensuring that students develop strong experimental and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, organize, and maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and chemicals for science classes.
• Assist teachers and students during laboratory experiments, ensuring safety and proper use of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory inventory, supplies, and chemical storage.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Calibrate, clean, and repair laboratory instruments as required.
• Support teachers in setting up experiments and demonstrations for different grade levels (K-12).
• Train students on proper laboratory practices, safety measures, and handling of apparatus.
• Dispose of chemicals and waste responsibly, following school and government guidelines.
• Conduct periodic checks and audits of laboratory equipment and resources.
• Stay updated with advancements in laboratory practices and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• Prior experience as a school or college laboratory technician (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment handling, and safety standards.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to guide and manage students during practical sessions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
