Job Description

Role Overview: As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting received routine samples and distributing them to different sections of the laboratory. You will adhere to standard test methods and quality system procedures to carry out required tests and confirm test results. Your role will also involve detecting exceptions or deviations in test results, performing on-spot mitigation in emergency situations, ensuring effective sample management, and maintaining good housekeeping in the laboratory. Key Responsibilities: - Inspect received routine samples and distribute them to different sections of the laboratory. - Adhere to standard test methods and quality system procedures. - Carry out required tests and confirm test results using validation techniques. - Detect exceptions or deviations in test results and report them to the concerned individuals. - Perform on-spot mitigation in emergency situations under the guidance of the shift in charge. - Ensure effective sample management and dispose of leftover samples safely. - Ensure timely entry of test results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). - Maintain analytical gears by cleaning and maintaining them for the next experiment or test. - Maintain good housekeeping in the laboratory. - Properly record test results in the raw data book, LIMS, process register, and individual raw data book. - Follow applicable Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire (HSEF) procedures and practices. - Stay aware of environmental, site, statutory, and intellectual property regulations. - Handle chemicals and tools according to safety norms and ensure safe working conditions. - Report unsafe acts or conditions to lab management for correction. - Take self-initiative for trainings to enhance competencies and participate in external trainings and events as advised. - Demonstrate business/function-specific competencies such as timely task execution, working with multiple interfaces, sample management, and prioritization of activities. - Exhibit HSEF-specific competencies including fire safety management, waste management, and knowledge of the RIL HSE Management System. - Utilize relevant knowledge of test procedures, sample handling, and communication skills for abnormal or off-spec results. Qualification Required: - B.Sc. Chemistry or Diploma in Chemical Engineering. - 3 to 7 years of overall experience in the industry. - Industry preference for O&G, Refinery, Petrochemical, Polyester, Polymer, Manufacturing, and Chemical sectors (Pharma industry candidates not preferred).,
