Kubernetes Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Cluster Management

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Manage cluster upgrades, scaling, and high availability.
• Implement RBAC, namespaces, and resource quotas for multi-tenant environments.

Container Orchestration

• Design and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement Helm charts, Operators, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).
• Optimize pod scheduling, autoscaling, and resource utilization.

Cloud Migration & Modernization

• Support migration of legacy applications to Kubernetes-based microservices.
• Re-architect workloads for cloud-native deployment.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure smooth migration strategies.

Security & Compliance

• Implement Kubernetes security best practices (Pod Security Policies, Network Policies, Secrets Management).
• Integrate with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd) for secure communication.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.

Monitoring & Reliability

• Set up observability frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
• Troubleshoot cluster and application issues, performing root cause analysis.
• Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for Kubernetes workloads.

Automation & DevOps

• Automate cluster provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
• Integrate Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
• Build GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux.

Collaboration

• Work closely with developers, cloud engineers, and security teams to design scalable solutions.
• Document Kubernetes architectures, policies, and operational procedures.
• Provide mentorship and training on Kubernetes best practices.
