Kannada/Malayalam Freelance Interpreter

About the Role
We are seeking experienced freelance interpreters to support real-time communication across languages and cultures. This role is ideal for language professionals who can interpret accurately, naturally, and confidently in both formal and informal settings while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation (consecutive or simultaneous) between English and Malayalam and or Kannada during meetings, interviews, conferences, and virtual sessions.
• Accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent without additions or omissions.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
• Prepare in advance by reviewing relevant materials, terminology, and subject matter.
• Handle both remote and in-person interpreting assignments based on project needs.
• Ensure culturally appropriate and clear communication for all participants.

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Malayalam or Kannada, with strong command of English.
• Proven experience in interpretation. Experience in business, medical, legal, or community settings is preferred.
• Excellent listening, comprehension, note-taking, and memory skills.
• Strong cultural awareness and communication sensitivity.
• Reliable internet connection and suitable equipment for remote interpreting assignments.
• Flexibility to work on a project basis with varying schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or certification in languages, translation, or interpretation.
• Familiarity with online interpretation platforms and video conferencing tools.
• Prior experience working with international clients.

Job Type: Freelance
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
