Role & responsibilities Kaizen Construction Management is seeking a Civil Engineer for the role of Jr. Estimator Trainee. The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating costs and gains of construction projects and collecting and analyzing material data to provide clients with reliable material takeoff quantities. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. The goal is to provide clients with accurate information to help with operations and strategic planning while submitting bids/tenders to General Contractors. Candidates who show consistent performance and improvement during the first 6 months may be considered for a work-from-home opportunity. Responsibilities: Understand project requirements. Select metrics for producing valid takeoffs. Follow up with clients and update takeoffs as per change orders, addendums, and RFIs received. Review documents thoroughly or consult with experts in the team to collect necessary data for compiling winning bids. Analyze existing and missing data to produce forecasts or positive assumptions. Perform risk analysis and choose appropriate solutions. Prepare and finalize detailed takeoff reports for bid submission with notes. Foster and develop trusting relationships among team members. Requirements and Skills: Proven experience as a construction estimator is a plus. Basic understanding of estimating and project management concepts. Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics. Comfortable with numbers and new technology. Excellent knowledge of Takeoff and Estimating software with the willingness to learn. Great attention to detail when working with plans and specifications. Excellent communication skills and a growth mindset.
