Kafka DevOps Platform Lead Engineer - Vice President - C13 - Pune

As a Kafka DevOps Platform Lead Engineer at Citi, you will be part of the Integration Services team within Common Platform Engineering. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain technology services used by development teams across Services, Markets, Banking, and Functions Technology. These services enable development teams to accelerate their deliveries by focusing on their business deliverables while the necessary ancillary services are provided for them. In this role, you will work on the Kafka as a Service project as a Senior Platform Engineer. Your tasks will involve maintaining and building a Kafka platform, including configuring new environments, managing onboarding and configuration workflows, and supporting partner teams in correctly architecting and configuring their Kafka usage. You will also troubleshoot any problems that arise. Responsibilities: - Act as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders, guiding all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives - Ensure the integration of functions aligns with business goals - Propose system enhancements for deploying new products and process improvements - Recommend product customization for system integration - Identify problem causality, business impact, and root causes - Mentor and advise junior team members - Influence engineering decisions through advice, counsel, or facilitation of services - Assess risks appropriately when making business decisions, with a focus on safeguarding Citigroup's reputation and assets Qualifications: - 10-15 years of relevant experience as a Kafka DevOps Platform Lead Engineer - Experience in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment - Proficiency in Kafka Ecosystem (Confluent distribution preferred), Kubernetes, Openshift, Java, Python, and Ansible - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities, and reporting for identifying best practices - Analytic and diagnostic skills - Ability to work in a matrix environment and collaborate with virtual teams - Capability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of various project aspects - Work effectively under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adapt to unexpected changes If you require a reasonable accommodation due to a disability to use our search tools or apply for a career opportunity, please review Accessibility at Citi.
