Junior Technical Officer / Technical Officer (EEG / EMG Technician)

Role Overview: You will be responsible for operating electromyography equipment to test the electrical activity of muscle disease or denervation, determining the conduction of velocity and latency times of peripheral motor and sensory nerves. Your role will also involve assisting physicians in performing advanced electromyography techniques for specific neurological diseases. Additionally, you will confer with patients to obtain medical history, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation. Key Responsibilities: - Review and analyze patient history to determine proper procedures for the test modality to be used. - Assist in scheduling patients for EMG testing and perform SSEP monitoring in the OT. - Prepare patients for the electromyography procedure by applying electrodes to the proper position on the body and adjusting as required. - Perform routine and complex EEG procedures to obtain data for the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system. - Report tracings obtained during EEG procedures to the Neurologist. - Assist with scheduling patients for EEG and conduct EEG monitoring in the OT. - Conduct EEGs in ICU, ICCU & PICU. Qualifications Required: - 3-7 years of experience in a relevant field. - B. Sc or BPMT (Neurophysiology) qualification.
