As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Cognyte, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our investigative analytics software solutions. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive test plans and test cases. - Designing and executing automated tests using Python. - Performing manual testing when necessary to validate software functionality and performance. - Identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects and inconsistencies. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide feedback on quality issues. - Ensuring all testing activities are conducted in accordance with established processes and standards. To qualify for this role, you should have the following qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in software quality assurance. - Good imagination for testing systems without exhaustive documentation. - Knowledge of Python for writing automated tests. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Nice to have: - Familiarity with performance testing tools and techniques. - Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. - Experience with test automation frameworks such as PyTest, Unittest, or similar. - Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. - Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
