Junior QA - Automation

The Role:

We are looking for 2-4 years of experience and self-motivated QA candidate with strong experience in both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in BDD framework like cucumber and hands on experience with Selenium (Java) and Azure DevOps for CI/CD. The team is integrated with the business, which enables the team to reach out to the business, learn and understand various aspects of the business to design solutions that match the evolving business needs and foresee potential scalability and maintenance issues.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded candidate with vision to make a valuable contribution into the software quality assurance and testing of risk modelling system.

In this role, the candidate will work in a team that supports financial modelling platform, ensure quality of the deliverables, and improve QA practices to meet the business requirements. The platform is core to client solutions and new features must be added continuously to stay competitive. The platform has been built with Java /JEE and Postgres database and deployed on Azure Cloud.

The position will be in Mumbai or Bangalore office with other team members in Ipswich and London. The candidate must therefore be able to work with little supervision and communicate concisely with all the team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding business and functional requirements of risk modelling application.
• Review/clarify requirements and provide improvement/suggestions.
• Plan, Prepare, Execute and Report test cycles for both functional and non-functional testing.
• Create and maintain regression test suit for upgrades versus iterative releases.
• Create and maintain BDD feature file using cucumber.
• Contributing towards maintaining test automation framework.
• Execute and monitor selenium automated test cases.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipeline using Azure DevOps.
• Analyse and record results of test execution and manage Bug lifecycle.
• Work closely with the UK team, Development Team & Project Manager and IT resources.
• Able to work independently with little help, self-motivated and passionate about software testing.
• Ability to quickly assimilate new and complex technologies and concepts in testing.
• Contribute to implement best QA practices in ever evolving risk modelling application.

Person Specification:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or related subjects.
• Minimum 60% throughout academics no gaps.
• Strong understanding of web-based applications, user interfaces, API, and architect.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, roles, software testing techniques and tools.
• Proficiency in defining and execution of test cases, analysing bugs, defect tracking and reporting.
• Excellent in SQL knowledge and Database testing.
• Experience in Smoke testing, Integration testing, Functional testing, Regression testing and UAT testing.
• Excellent in process, documentation, team participation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Agile development methodology.

Good to have Skills:

• Experience in Automation Testing (Preferably BDD Selenium web driver with Java.)
• Experience with Azure DevOps including pipelines, repos and boards.
• Familiar with Git version control and integrating test suites in CI/CD.
• Knowledge in Soap UI, Postman tool & Rest-Assured library for API testing.
• Testing certifications.
