Junior Design Engineer

You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of detailed design drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software like AutoCAD and SolidWorks. You will collaborate with senior engineers and design teams to develop product designs, mechanical assemblies, and parts. Ensuring that all design drawings comply with industry standards and project requirements will be a key part of your role. You will also modify and revise designs based on feedback from senior engineers. It will be your responsibility to maintain and organize design documentation, including CAD files, technical reports, and specifications. Working closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards is also part of your duties. Staying current with CAD software updates and industry trends to improve design efficiency is essential. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent technical education). Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar drafting tools is required. A basic understanding of engineering design principles, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T) is necessary. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality designs are also important qualifications. Preferred skills for this position include experience with 3D modeling and drafting tools, familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials, exposure to Bill of Materials (BOM) management and engineering change order processes, and knowledge of flat-packing furniture and the manufacturing process in the wood industry, which will be an added advantage.
