Role Overview

Junior Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with

  database backup, recovery, patching, and maintenance

  activities across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Monitor the

  health and availability

  of production and non-production database instances.
• Support

  cloning and refresh cycles

  for development, testing, and UAT environments.
• Participate in

  database deployments

  , version control, and migration execution.
• Help create and maintain

  automation scripts

  for health checks, maintenance, and cleanup tasks.
• Support compliance and security policies by assisting with

  user/role audits

  and

  SOX access reviews

  .
• Document

  SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides

  .
• Collaborate with Application DBAs for

  Oracle E-Business Suite support and troubleshooting

  .

• Willingness to work in shifts

  .

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

  in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 2-3 years of experience

  in database administration or related roles.
• Exposure to one or more

  RDBMS platforms

  : Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with

  backup & recovery tools

  : RMAN (Oracle), SQL Server Maintenance Plans, pg_dump.
• Basic scripting skills in

  Shell, PowerShell, or Python

  for automation.
• Strong understanding of core database concepts:

  indexes, views, stored procedures, roles/permissions

  .
• Excellent

  attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and ability to follow SOPs

  .
• Good

  communication and documentation

  skills.
