Junior Associate, Research and Training

We at Ignis, are committed to reduce social inequality through quality and purposeful education by transforming the teaching and learning processes. 

After four years of intensive research in the villages of India, we at Ignis have developed an English and Life Skills curriculum that promotes joyful and context relevant learning, breaking away from rote learning and passive teaching practices. Our curriculum enables learners to read, write, listen and communicate with ease. As our learners improve their ability to read, they start assimilating a wider variety of text and this enhances both their ability to think critically and act creatively.

1. Part of the Ignis Research Team that develops TLMs in Functional English for underprivileged learners

2. Facilitate fun-filled, interactive and activity-based training programs in functional English and Life skills.

3. Develop content for new TLMs as and when needed

4. Revise existing TLMs. 

5. Help draft applications for projects and grants 

6. Proofread documents

Requirements

1. Excellent communication skills in English on par with IELTS Score of 7.5 or equivalent

2. Master's in English or any other discipline in social science

3. Must have fair understanding of social issues and contemporary Indian society

4. Must be sensitive about the challenges faced by underserved communities in India

5. 1-2 years experience in classroom teaching or teaching English

5. Willing to adopt and practice activity-based facilitation of learning instead of chalk and lecture method of teaching

6. Must be passionate about making a difference to the teaching and learning of English

7. Must be passionate about making a difference in the lives of several underprivileged learners in the country

8. Must be willing to relocate to Hyderabad

9. Must be willing to travel within the city and to out-of-city project locations for research and to facilitate demos and trainings
