Job Description

As a Junior Motor Firmware Engineer, your role will involve developing and maintaining firmware for motor control applications on microcontrollers. This includes implementing motor control algorithms for BLDC and other motor types, writing clean and well-documented embedded C code following coding standards, integrating motor controller ICs with microcontrollers, and developing and testing PWM control strategies for motor speed and torque regulation. You will also be responsible for interfacing with position sensors such as encoders and angle sensors for closed-loop motor control, implementing torque and current sensing for motor feedback systems, and working with IMU sensors for motion detection and orientation tracking. Additionally, you will develop sensor data processing and filtering algorithms. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain firmware for motor control applications on microcontrollers - Implement motor control algorithms for BLDC and other motor types - Write clean, well-documented embedded C code following coding standards - Integrate motor controller ICs with microcontrollers - Develop and test PWM control strategies for motor speed and torque regulation - Interface with position sensors for closed-loop motor control - Implement torque and current sensing for motor feedback systems - Work with IMU sensors for motion detection and orientation tracking - Develop sensor data processing and filtering algorithms In terms of testing and documentation, you will be required to: - Develop unit tests and integration tests for motor control functions - Perform hardware-in-the-loop testing and validation - Create technical documentation for firmware modules - Troubleshoot and debug firmware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field - 0-2 years of experience in embedded firmware development - Academic or practical projects involving motor control or power electronics As a candidate for this role, you should possess: - Strong programming skills in embedded C - Understanding of motor control fundamentals, especially BLDC and DC motors - Familiarity with microcontroller architectures, preferably ARM Cortex-M - Basic knowledge of power electronics and motor drive circuits - Experience with embedded development tools such as IDEs, debuggers, and version control systems Core Competencies: - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Good understanding of digital signal processing basics - Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics - Comfortable working with datasheets and technical specifications - Basic understanding of control systems, including PID and state machines - Knowledge of field-oriented control (FOC) or other advanced motor control techniques This is a full-time position with the work location being in person.,
