Jr Engineer - FE (Mechanical)

As a Junior Engineer (Front End) at Ball Corporation, you will be an integral part of the shift operation team responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of Bodymakers, trimmers, Cuppers, and other front-end equipment in the can making line. Your primary focus will be on working safely, producing quality products, and actively participating in improvement activities to achieve area KPIs. Key Responsibilities: - Operate front-end equipment efficiently to ensure optimum speed and performance. - Conduct safety checks on Cuppers and Bodymakers at the start of each shift, log findings, and take corrective actions promptly. - Ensure quality specifications are met for cans produced in the front end, conduct quality checks, and address deviations promptly. - Maintain front-end area and equipment according to housekeeping and hygiene standards. - Address spoilage concerns and take swift action to resolve abnormal conditions in the area. - Perform tool usage in bodymakers, including polishing and crosshatching bodymaker tooling as per schedule. - Monitor process parameters in bodymakers to ensure short can rate is within specifications. - Execute coil changes, clean die set/cupper, and perform corrective maintenance activities during natural downtime. - Collaborate with the engineering team to support maintenance and upkeep of front-end equipment. - Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S activities. - Gain knowledge and experience in Bodymaker and trimmer periodic maintenance and support engineering resources for maintenance activities. - Work closely with engineering resources for changeover activities and hydraulic oil consumption management. Qualification Required: - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Toolroom Technology. - BE/B Tech degree. - 3+ years of operation/maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing plant. - Hands-on experience in maintenance of Gearboxes, Hydraulic Circuits, and Heavy-duty mechanical power press. - Experience in CNC Machine programming and mechanical tool room work.
