Inspects loads including size, weight, shape and centre of gravity and determines the correct lifting equipment required. Splice ropes and cables required for slinging. Inspect, maintain and repair rigging equipment. Inspects chains, slings, ropes, cables, hooks and lifting gear for damage or wear. Ensure loads do not exceed crane SWL, are evenly balanced. Guides loads into place. Attaches lifting devices to hoisting equipment. Signals crane driver to lift loads. Transportation of loads via Articulated Truck or Side lifter, light plant or forklift. Inspection and recording of equipment condition via daily Machine Logbooks. Recording of cargo and dispatched freight. Compilation and adherence to JHSAs.
