Java - Developer

As a technical expert at Valtech Mobility, a strategic business unit of Valtech Group, dedicated to improving mobility by developing cutting-edge connected vehicle technologies, you will be part of the global Connected Vehicle team. With more than 30 million vehicles in 65 countries enjoying over 50 different connected car services, you will play a crucial role in the connected vehicle revolution alongside international industry experts with decades of experience. Key Responsibilities: - Taking responsibility for your work from design to implementation and operations - Building Java applications using Java 8 (and above), Spring Boot, and Hibernate - Designing scalable microservice architecture - Implementing design patterns proficiently - Working with web technologies like REST and Feign clients - Applying a Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach - Implementing and operating on Kubernetes-based deployments - Collaborating in agile teams using methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe - Investing in building domain knowledge and becoming a subject matter expert - Contributing to hands-on Platform Engineering - Communicating effectively in English and working in a globally distributed team Qualifications Required: - Hands-on experience in Java development - Familiarity with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices - Proficiency in design patterns and web technologies - Experience with TDD, Kubernetes, and agile methodologies - Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn You will also ideally have experience in: - Using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Prometheus, and Grafana - Working with Kafka and MQTT - Automating software integration, testing, delivery, and deployment - Implementing environments on Cloud platforms like AWS - Understanding security techniques including Firewalls/Security Groups and Threat Modelling Valtech is committed to creating an equitable workplace that supports the growth and goals of individuals from all backgrounds.
