Must-Have Qualifications

JLPT N3 or N2 certified. Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in Japanese with native speakers.
5 to 10 years of IT experience in Application Design, Development, Testing, and Maintenance projects.
Knowledge and hands-on experience in Java technologies including Core Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, MySQL database, PostgreSQL database, NPM, Maven, VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, GitHub.
Ability to effectively coordinate with Customer SMEs, Onsite and Offshore teams.
Actively involved in Application transition and stabilization phases by aligning to Japan (JST) working hours.
Advanced knowledge of designing and implementing APIs and integrations in insurance or financial systems.

Good-to-Have Qualifications

Exposure to Agile methodology, DevOps, security vulnerability management, and P&C Insurance domain knowledge.
Familiarity with OpenShift, containerization, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub), and DevOps practices.
Exposure to test automation (SoapUI, Postman) and monitoring tools.
Knowledge of distributed architecture, microservices, and Japanese insurance regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities / Expectations

Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in both Japanese & English languages to establish good coordination and communication with Customer, Onsite, and Offshore teams.
Ready to work in JST morning hours as required to extend the support for Application transition and stabilization phases of Application Design, Development, Testing, and Maintenance projects.
Actively involved in supporting architecture decisions, preparing design documents, coding, conducting code reviews, ensuring code quality compliance, troubleshooting technical issues, defect fixes, and successful build and deployments.
