About The Role

We are looking for an experienced

Java Backend Developer

to join our dynamic remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance enterprise-class, database-driven web applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust software architecture, scalability, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, code, and unit test core backend components using modern Java frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to define architectural design specifications.
• Ensure software meets key non-functional requirementsperformance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code for long-term reuse and efficiency.
• Identify potential roadblocks and propose proactive solutions to maintain delivery schedules.
• Work closely with front-end teams to integrate APIs and establish consistent data flows.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Debug and resolve defects reported by QA or client support teams in a timely manner.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development, communication, and documentation processes.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial software application development.
• 3+ years of experience in relational database-backed application development.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java (Spring Boot preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and command-line operations.
• Proficiency in relational database designschemas, queries, constraints, transactions, and performance tuning.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL (preferred) or similar databases.
• Familiarity with Hasura and GraphQL services is a plus.
• Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as React, Vue.js, or Ionic is an asset.
• Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, production-grade enterprise web applications.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
