Job Title: IT Teacher (Grade 1 & 2)

Reporting To: Primary Coordinator / Academic Head

Position Overview:

The IT Teacher for Grades 1 and 2 will be responsible for introducing foundational computer skills to young learners through age-appropriate teaching strategies, interactive activities, and digital tools. The ideal candidate should be patient, innovative, and enthusiastic about teaching technology to early learners, while ensuring alignment with CBSE expectations and the school’s digital learning framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach basic computer concepts such as parts of a computer, mouse and keyboard skills, typing practice, and safe use of technology.
• Introduce age-appropriate software including drawing tools, basic word processing, and interactive educational applications.
• Create engaging and structured lesson plans based on the school ICT curriculum.
• Incorporate activity-based, hands-on learning including games, puzzles, digital art, and guided practice sessions.
• Ensure safe and responsible use of technology in the classroom, including digital citizenship basics.
• Maintain records of student performance, progress, and class activities.
• Monitor and guide students individually to ensure understanding and skill development.
• Collaborate with grade teachers and coordinators for cross–curricular digital integration (e.g., ICT-supported worksheets, presentations, or storytelling).
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and ensure systems are ready before class sessions.
• Communicate effectively with parents during PTMs regarding student learning and computer skills development.
• Participate in school events, exhibitions, and tech-based student showcases.
• Upgrade self-skills and participate in ICT-related professional development programs.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Education or equivalent.
• B.Ed. preferred (optional for IT specialization depending on school norms).
• Experience teaching primary-level students (preferably in a CBSE environment).
• Strong communication skills with fluency in English.
• Ability to use digital learning tools, smartboards, educational applications, and basic coding platforms for kids.
