IT Storage and Backup Specialist (Associate SME)

Role Overview: As an analyst specializing in Storage (NetApp & Brocade) Backup (Commvault), and with some knowledge in Unix (Solaris), your primary responsibility will be to provide day-to-day support for the Storage environment and configure backup systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring that Customer's Backup & Storage systems are correctly configured to meet the evolving demands of the IT environment. Key Responsibilities: - Manage Netapp storage environment, including provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of storage resources across SAN and NAS infrastructures. - Create and manage storage aggregates and volumes on NetApp systems. - Demonstrate proficiency in storage protocols like NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and FCP. - Perform ONTAP administration, system monitoring, performance tuning, and firmware upgrades. - Schedule and manage snapshots for data protection and recovery. - Establish and monitor SnapMirror relationships for data replication and disaster recovery. - Provision and manage LUNs, including LUN expansion and mapping for connected servers. - Execute storage reclamation to optimize resource utilization. - Manage Commvault backups, resolve issues, perform tape restores, and configure backups for server lifecycle events. - Troubleshoot backup systems related issues and collaborate with the Systems team and external vendors. - Assist in backup-to-disk projects and optimize performance leveraging SAN expertise. - Troubleshoot frequently failing backups and communicate changes to relevant systems. - Possess knowledge of SAN technologies and troubleshoot server-related issues. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 4 years of experience in Storage and/or Backup administration. - In-depth knowledge of Backup and Storage in an IT operational environment. - Experience in IT Systems Management and support for global clients. - Ability to adapt to new Systems and Business rules quickly. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to work. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with local and remote teams. - Proficiency in Commvault 11, Windows Scripting, Active Directory Authentication, ONTAP operating system, NetApp tools, and Brocade Network Advisor. - ITIL certification. - Bachelor's degree in B.
