The IT Infrastructure Security Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing the security of the organizations IT infrastructure, including office environments and data centres. This role focuses on safeguarding hardware, networks, and other physical IT assets from unauthorized access, threats, and vulnerabilities. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, the position works collaboratively with IT teams while excluding responsibilities typically associated with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Key Responsibilities:
Network Security
- Implement, configure, and manage security devices such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Monitor and secure local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Endpoint Security
- Deploy, configure, and manage security tools, including antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and patch management systems.
- Ensure servers, workstations, and connected devices are updated and protected against vulnerabilities.
Access Control
- Implement and enforce identity and access management (IAM) policies.
- Ensure network segmentation and enforce least-privilege access for users, applications, and systems.
Infrastructure Security Support
- Oversee incident detection and response through Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans, assess findings, and manage remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with internal teams and NeSL customers to troubleshoot end-user and customer security issues.
- Ensure the closure of infrastructure vulnerabilities identified internally or through audits.
Incident Response
- Respond promptly to security incidents affecting infrastructure and lead investigations, including forensic analysis where required.
- Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to resolve and document security incidents comprehensively.
Compliance and Audits
- Ensure adherence to relevant infrastructure security standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and compliance with regulatory requirements and internally approved policies.
- Support audits related to network, data center, and physical infrastructure security, including documentation and reporting.
Key Focus Areas:
- Protection of IT assets, including hardware, data centers, and network infrastructure.
- Proactive identification and mitigation of infrastructure vulnerabilities.
- Close collaboration with the IT team to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
- Coordinating with the CISO on strategic security aspects while maintaining operational independence.
Education
- B.E./B.Tech. in CS/ IT/ ECE/ EEE, MCA, M.Sc. CS/IT fulltime course from a reputed institute with a good academic track record.
Experience
- Candidate should possess relevant experience of minimum 12-15 years in IT Infrastructure Security.
