IT Cloud Operations and DevOps with Linux Admin

As a Linux System Administrator + Cloud Administrator at Motorola Solutions, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems supporting core organizational functions. Your tasks will include: - Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems organization-wide, focusing on optimal performance. - Manage cloud-based resources and services like virtual machines, storage, and network components within providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. - Automate tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. - Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of services and infrastructure. - Implement security measures and controls, including firewall configurations, patch management, and intrusion detection systems. - Conduct routine audits of systems, including backups. - Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth operation of software and systems. - Work with vendors and other IT personnel for issue resolution. - Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, and anti-spam. - Oversee and test disaster recovery plans. - Document configurations, changes, and procedures. Basic Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or related field, or equivalent education and experience. - Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator and Cloud Administrator with a strong understanding of Linux internals. - Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managing hybrid cloud environments. - Strong knowledge of systems, networking software, hardware, and protocols. - Experience with scripting and automation tools. - Track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans. - Knowledge of helpdesk and IT operations best practices, security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery. - Certifications in Linux & cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate). - Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat Openshift). - Familiarity with database management and related services. - Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus). - Knowledge of DevOps tools and methodologies.
