IT Asset & Configuration Management Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain CMDB discovery tools to ensure accurate asset and configuration data collection
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness of CMDB records, including mapping of upstream & downstream CI relationships and business services
• Develop and enforce CMDB policies, standards, and processes aligned with ITSM best practices
• Collaborate with IT operations, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate CMDB with ITSM and monitoring systems.
• Track and report on CMDB KPIs (accuracy, coverage, compliance) and provide insights for continuous improvement
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes by ensuring CMDB provides reliable configuration data
• Automate CMDB updates and inventory tracking through scripts, workflows, and integrations
• Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to align CMDB with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Train IT teams to identify critical business services & create value through the CMDB

Required Skills

• 5+ years of mandatory Hands-on experience in CMDB, ITAM and ITSM with Ivanti Neuron Discovery tool.
• Strong knowledge of ITSM framework (ITIL v4), CMDB tools (Ivanti Neuron) and discovery technologies.
• SQL / Database querying knowledge for custom Mapping & Data validation
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components & Services
• Cross-function & Communication Skills
• Audit, compliance, and IT governance knowledge
• Analytical skills, reporting tools using Ivanti Neuron Analytics (Good to have: Power BI/ Tableau)
• Proficiency in Python, including modular code design and REST API integrations.
• Familiarity with Linux to automate script execution and Environment setup.
• Understanding of network fundamentals (subnets, IP addressing, Mac address mapping)
• Defines and implements governance processes for CMDB updates and Asset lifecycle management.
• Coordinate Design, asset discovery, integrations, and import methods to maintain CMDB completeness
• Define the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the IT Asset Management & Configuration Management Process.
• Prepares dashboards and reports to measure CMDB health, project outcome & Improvement Plans.
• Integrate CMDB effectively with ITSM Tool & Process to reduce downtime, improve root cause analysis, and support change management Process.
• Performs gap analysis and administers CMDB to maintain reliable configuration records
• Perform scheduled audits, ensures adherence to standards, and supports regulatory reporting requirements
• Conduct Trainings for the Support teams to ensure appropriate understanding of IT Asset & Configuration Management and its relationship with the other IT Service Management process
