Job Description

Experienced Industrial Automation Engineer specializing in the development of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) stacks and edge computing solutions on AWS and Azure. The engineer will design, deploy, and optimize systems that bridge operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), driving efficiency and innovation in industrial processes.

Required Skills:

Education: Bachelors in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronic / Computer Science or related field.
Min 5-7 years in industrial automation, with 2+ years focused on IIoT(Industrial internet of things) stacks and edge computing.
Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure IoT services and edge devices.
Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or C#; familiarity with DevOps tools.
Knowledge of industrial protocols (OPC UA (unified Architecture), MQTT) and automation systems (PLCs, SCADA).
Preferred Skills: Certifications: AWS Certified IoT Specialty, Azure IoT Developer, or equivalent.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in manufacturing, energy, or oil & gas sectors.
Master s degree in a relevant field.
Background in machine learning/AI for edge analytics.
Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and industrial security standards (ISA/IEC 62443

Travel Requirement: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to:

Design & Development:
- Architect IIoT solutions integrating sensors, PLCs, edge devices, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Develop edge computing frameworks for real-time data processing, analytics, and low-latency decision-making.
Cloud Integration:
- Implement AWS services (IoT Core, Greengrass, Lambda, S3) and Azure services (IoT Hub, Functions, Edge) for scalable IIoT deployments.
- Optimize data pipelines from edge to cloud, ensuring secure and efficient transmission.
Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams (software engineers, data scientists, OT/IT teams) to align solutions with business goals.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate industrial requirements into technical specifications.
Protocols & Security:
- Develop communication protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus) and ensure end-to-end security (encryption, access controls, compliance).
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve issues in IIoT/edge systems; provide post-deployment technical support.
Documentation & Innovation:
- Maintain detailed documentation (designs, APIs, workflows).
- Stay updated on emerging trends in IIoT, edge computing, and cloud technologies.
