Job Description

Job title: Intern
Location: Mumbai
Program: Training Department
Reports to: Training Lead
About the Sol’s ARC:

Sol’s ARC is a registered NGO dedicated to inclusion and equity for individuals with special needs. For the past 20 years, we have worked to ensure that every child learns and every adult earns by providing education, vocational training, and economic opportunities for the educable and trainable special needs population.

Role purpose:
The Program Manager will own end-to-end program delivery—redesigning a holistic, practical curriculum, guiding special educators and trainers to deliver soft skills and professional training, establishing scheme linkages for youth with disabilities, and if required, creating a new curriculum. The role requires a creative, outgoing, experimental manager who converts theory into hands-on learning (e.g., exposure visits, simulations) and drives continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities
Assist in creating and updating training presentations, handouts, worksheets, and activity plans.

Support in planning training schedules and coordinating with partners, field teams, and trainers.

Help manage logistics such as attendance, assessments, feedback forms, and basic tech setup.

Provide support during in-person and online sessions, including group activities and backend tasks.

Conduct basic research and prepare simple scripts, case studies, and reflection questions.

Observe sessions, document learning points, and maintain organised records of training materials.

Assist in analysing training data and improving modules based on feedback and field insights.

Person specification
Graduate (Bachelor’s degree)
Psychology background preferred (e.g., BA Psychology, BSc Psychology, or related fields such as Education, Special Education, or Social Work)

Learning outcomes:
Practical Training & Facilitation Skills: Hands-on experience supporting real training sessions—online and on-ground—with teachers, special educators, field teams, and partner organisations.
Strong Understanding of Inclusive Education & Disability: Deep grounding in inclusive classroom practices, UDL, RPwD Act, behaviour strategies, and how learners with disabilities are supported in real settings.
Field Exposure to Schools & Communities: Opportunities to interact with young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities, observe skill-building sessions, understand on-ground challenges, engage with caregivers, and see how inclusion and workplace readiness are supported in real environments.
Content Design & Module Development: Experience creating training decks, activities, worksheets, facilitator scripts, and adapting content based on field insights.
Coordination, Documentation & Reporting Skills: Learning to manage training logistics, record observations, analyse training data, and prepare clear, professional reports for donors and government partners.
