Job Description

As a Communications and Marketing Specialist at CDM Smith, you will be responsible for developing, writing, producing, and promoting various communications and marketing materials ranging from basic to highly complex projects. In this role, you will work under light supervision to create content for marketing campaigns, brand management, major internal programs, and employee communications. Your contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the company's communication strategy and enhancing its brand image. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include content development where you will be involved in creating, developing, and producing marketing and communication content to support various initiatives. You will collaborate with designers, create creative briefs, and ensure all materials meet the necessary approvals before dissemination. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting content across different channels such as email programs, websites, social media, events, press distribution, intranet sites, and advertising platforms. As part of program administration, you will oversee the implementation of marketing and communications programs. This will involve creating budgets, establishing event calendars, tracking key performance metrics, and making necessary modifications based on the results. Your role will also entail conducting research to assist in the development of communication materials and performing other duties as required to support the overall objectives of the team. To excel in this role, you should possess advanced knowledge of various communication platforms and demonstrate the ability to research technical information, conduct interviews, and synthesize data into effective communication materials. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital channel platforms. A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience are required for this position. Preferred qualifications include a BA or BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, or a related field, as well as previous experience working in an architectural, engineering, or construction firm. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office tools is desirable, along with excellent grammar and spelling skills. The ability to work collaboratively within a team, meet deadlines under tight constraints, and adapt to changing priorities will be key to success in this role.
