Interior Electrician

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Electrical Installation

• Install wiring, conduits, cable trays, and electrical panels as per drawings.
• Set up switches, sockets, MCBs, DBs, and lighting fixtures.
• Ensure proper routing of cables to avoid clashes with plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.
• Execute concealed wiring, modular installations, and false ceiling electrical setups.

2. Execution as per Drawings & Standards

• Read and interpret electrical layouts, load charts, and schematic drawings.
• Ensure installations follow GFC drawings and site instructions exactly.
• Comply with IS standards, safety norms, and project specifications.

3. Testing & Commissioning

• Conduct continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and earth testing.
• Test lighting, power points, automation, and low-voltage systems.
• Rectify issues before handover and ensure all systems are functioning smoothly.

4. Coordination & Site Management

• Coordinate with the site supervisor, PM, carpenters, plumbers, and HVAC teams to avoid rework.
• Provide daily work updates to the Project Lead.
• Raise RFIs when drawings or site conditions are unclear.
• Track material requirements and inform the procurement/PMO for timely supplies.

5. Quality & Safety Compliance

• Follow all electrical safety guidelines, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and grounding requirements.
• Maintain neat and concealed wiring.
• Ensure quality workmanship: aligned fixtures, tidy DBs, proper terminations, and labelled circuits.
• Ensure zero short circuits, loose connections, or overloading.

6. Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Detect electrical faults and perform corrective measures.
• Repair or replace damaged wiring, fixtures, or equipment.
• Support post-handover snag rectification.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain checklists for installation and testing.
• Record DB schedules, load distribution, and fixture wattage details.
• Update daily progress reports and get approvals from Project Lead/Client when necessary.

8. Material Handling

• Verify materials received (wires, switches, fixtures, conduits) against BOQ/specs.
• Ensure safe storage of electrical items.
• Reduce wastage and track consumption.

9. Client & Team Interaction

• Assist the Project Lead in explaining electrical installations to clients when required.
• Maintain professional behaviour on site.
