Interior Designer

The role of the designer will be to take briefs from the senior designers and work on them to take the project forward with the design team. The candidate will have to lead the designer and work with them to create designs for play areas and for children. He/she will be closely working with the founders and the junior designers. The candidate must possess great sense of colour, form, aesthetics and materials. Management, organising and delegating work for different projects and coordinating with internal design team and external vendors and clients would be a key function.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Understand briefs for various projects from the founders and create design directions and roadmaps for the project.
• Conceptualise ideas according to the brief with the design team.
• Detail the designs of spaces, products, play elements with respect to scale, anthropometry, material feasibility and budgets.
• Oversee the work of the junior designers to ensure the work delivered is of high quality and is on time.
• Constantly research about children, play, play theory etc and for different materials, finishes and processes.
• Coordination with vendors and partners to ensure quality and timely execution of projects
• Prepare execution timelines with the project manager and coordinate different projects simultaneously in a seamless fashion
• Collect feedback from the client and communicate to the design team to ensure constant improvisations and betterment of our products and services
• Maintain healthy relationships with the clients and execution partners for future businesses.
• Create and maintain a material library by looking for new materials and securing samples as directed the design team.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or postgraduate degree in furniture, product or industrial design from a reputed college
• 1+ years operations experience
• Working knowledge of Rhinoceros, Autocad, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop and Excel.
• Understanding of form, aesthetics, colour and materials to capture the project and design it well.
• Ability to work under pressure situations and handle tricky problems.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills (Hindi, English, Marathi, Kannada)
