Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  1. Oversee inventory management of critical instrumentation spares, ensuring availability, stock accuracy, and alignment with maintenance plans.
  2. Prepare and monitor instrumentation budgets, tracking cost allocation for procurement, maintenance, and project activities.
  3. Lead vendor assessment and conduct Technical Bid Analysis (TBA) and Technical Recommendations (TR) for procurement of instrumentation systems and components.
  4. Design and enforce calibration processes for all field instruments, ensuring compliance, traceability, and measurement accuracy.
  5. Program, test, and troubleshoot rotary equipment controls, including Woodward governor systems, ensuring optimal performance and synchronization.
  6. Utilize SAP (PM & MM Modules) for job tracking, material requisition, procurement, work order planning, and reporting.
  7. Plan and conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to verify design compliance and performance of instrumentation systems.
  8. Design and review control systems including logic development, architecture layout, I/O mapping, and integration into plant automation.
  9. Lead the integration of new instrumentation systems with existing control architecture, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and minimal disruption.
  10. Monitor and optimize performance of instrumentation loops, identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements in control responsiveness.
  11. Lead root cause analysis for complex instrumentation-related issues, and implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to ensure permanent resolution.
  12. Estimate costs and prepare budgets for MOC, maintenance, and shutdown activities, aligning resource planning with operational and strategic needs.
  13. Coordinate and manage interdisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between instrumentation, process, mechanical, and electrical functions.
  14. Plan and facilitate training and development programs for team members, enhancing technical capability and promoting knowledge sharing.
  15. Study and review P&IDs and hookup drawings, verifying instrument location, functionality, and compliance with engineering intent.
  16. Apply in-depth knowledge of field instruments (mass flow meters, level/pressure transmitters, various flow meters), ensuring correct selection, installation, and calibration.
  17. Maintain ISO, DMS, and IMS documentation, ensuring audit readiness and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
