Instrumentation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Understand project scope, basic inputs/drawings, and technical requirements.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, site layouts, P&IDs, and instrumentation technical specifications.
• Possess sound knowledge of instruments used in reaction, filtration, drying, packing, and utility equipment, such as reactors, filters, dryers, tanks, pumps, hoists, silos, HVAC systems, and clean room instruments.
• Prepare internal SLD networks and utilities instruments layouts as per process systems.
• Develop BOQs for instrumentation and utility equipment such as sensors, gauges, level transmitters, control systems, controllers, PLCs, SCADA, control panels, RH control systems, temperature mapping, and qualification protocols.
• Prepare detailed Instruments specification sheets based on user inputs and vendor quotations.
• Review and approve GA drawings for instrumentation and control systems as per project specifications.
• Coordinate with project and design teams for approvals and design clarifications.
• Select equipment, verify and approve vendor drawings, and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Prepare and update execution schedules for instrumentation and automation activities.
• Follow up with vendors for drawing approvals, dispatch schedules, inspections, and FAT documentation.
• Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and communication of project progress.
• Support project planning and scheduling teams to ensure timely delivery of instrumentation systems and execution
• Identify key requirements for each project stage and coordinate with related team members for smooth progress.
• Ensure quality output in all instrumentation and automation activities with strong focus on safety and statutory compliance.
• Prepare indents for materials, monitor costs and resources, and support timely handover and documentation closure.

• Preferred candidate profile

1. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical process instrumentation and automation systems.

2. Exposure to instruments related to Reactors, Filters, Dryers, Tanks, Silos, Hoists, Pass Boxes, LAFs, Powder Handling Equipment, HVAC, Spray Dryer, Filter Press, Boiler, and HAG.

3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to prepare and review technical drawings.

4. Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and control systems.

5. Ability to perform instrument validation and qualification of process equipment and facilities as per cGMP requirements.

6. Capable of preparing technical documentation, specifications, and BOQs accurately.
