Instrumentation Engineer

Strategic Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of DCS/PLC systems per OEM guidelines and SOPs.
• Plan and execute maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems in coordination with OEMs/service providers.
• Review and upgrade site systems using latest technologies.
• Comply with regulatory standards (OISD, PNGRB, PESO, PSM).

Operational Responsibilities

• Plan and ensure effective critical loop testing for instrumentation and automation.
• Oversee installation, testing, operation, and repair of control systems and accessories.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS hardware and software.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Monitor SCADA systems and review safety systems.
• Maintain and update alarm management across plants.
• Ensure timely statutory compliance.
• Analyze process deficiencies and suggest automation improvements.
• Support RCA and CAPA implementation.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures.
• Manage One-Time Capex projects within budget and timeline.
• Prepare budgets and develop second-line instrumentation staff through training.
• Promote safety, maintain 5S standards in workshops and control rooms.
