Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer.

Role & responsibilities

• Provide technical input during the design phase for robust controls systems for next generation equipment.
• Develop and deploy software solutions for hydrogen generation systems focused around process control and optimal system performance
• Create and manage programs for Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), PCS.
• Development of Spec, MR, Technical Bid Evaluation and Vendor Print Review of Field Instrument Packages, Control Valves, On Off Valves, Instrument Bulks.
• Assists in developing or reviews discipline material quantity estimates.
• Preparation of Complex Loop Control Narratives, Cause and Effect Matrix for Process and F&G System, logic narratives.
• Development of I/O data base for DCS, SIS, F&G and Vendor Packages.
• Good working knowledge of the control system platform(s) of at least one of the following vendors; ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa.
• Preparation of Design Criteria for Controls and Instrumentation.
• Create and manage methods for data acquisition and interpretation of system information
• Perform system tests to ensure that software and automation solutions are effective and reliable both pre and post deployment
• Create and provide training to users on system interfacing and troubleshooting
• Refine system automation and software solutions based upon field data and stakeholder input
• Develop, read, and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Schematics as needed
• Assist in developing tracking indicators and display for system performance
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Prepare / provide guidance for preparation of control system (BPCS, ESD, F&G, PCS etc) design, procurement, and implementation.
• Review Instrument hook-up, installation, and location design.
• Requisitions for quotation and for purchase
• Review vendor documents and quotations for compliance with project requirements.
• Participation in 3D Model Review Sessions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Master or Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years experience in similar function.
• Expertise as Instrument & Control Engineer within International Projects.
• Experience in companies providing engineering services to the Oil and Gas, Chemical, Refining or Petrochemical Industry.
• At least six years of experience as Instrumentation & Control Project Engineer at site related to industrial plants.
• Knowledge and experience in the applicable software of the discipline, and other common software as Autocad and Microsoft Office applications.
• Expertise of PLC programming of the main international specialist companies (Rockwell, Siemens, ).
• Expertise in the definition of Oil & Gas Plant Control Architectures.
• Expertise in SCADA and distributed control system (DCS) systems.
• Exprtise in Safety Instrumented System (SIS, ESD).
• Expertise in Machine monitoring systems (MMS).
• Knowledge in Intools database (Smart Plant Instrumentation), P&IDs.
