Detailed Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IBM iSeries AIX OS-7.X and IBM iSeries- OS(AS400) Administrator to join our dynamic IT team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of our AS/400 and AIX server infrastructure using remote access.

This role requires a strong understanding of server operations and experience with various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. AS/400 Server Management: Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of AS/400 servers. This includes system monitoring and basic troubleshooting technical issues.

2. Managed Backups: Implement, monitor, and manage backup and recovery processes for all critical data on AS/400 and AIX systems using the FalconStor tool. Ensure regular and reliable backups and the ability to swiftly restore data in case of failure or disaster. 3. AIX Server Management: Administer and maintain AIX servers, including system configuration, patching, and applying updates. Ensure the servers security, stability, and optimal performance.

4. Patch Management: Regularly apply patches and updates to both AS/400 and AIX servers as requested by Security team to maintain system security and efficiency. Coordinate and perform these updates with minimal downtime.

5. Operating System Management: Install, configure, and manage the OS of our servers, ensuring they run smoothly and securely. This includes managing user accounts, permissions, and system resources.
