Industrial Designer

The Assistant Manager - Industrial Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing motorcycle designs from initial ideas to production-ready solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Clay Modelers, Engineers, and Digital Sculptors, to create motorcycles that embody Royal Enfields legacy while pushing the boundaries of design. Conducting research, sketching, and visualizing innovative motorcycle concepts aligned with Royal Enfield's design philosophy will be a key aspect of your role. You will be developing motorcycle designs from initial sketches to digital 3D models, ensuring a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability. Collaborating with clay modelers to refine design proportions and surfaces through physical prototypes will also be part of your responsibilities. Your expertise in creating high-quality 3D models using Blender, Rhino, or Alias to effectively communicate design intent is essential. You will collaborate with the engineering and product teams to translate design concepts into feasible production models. Staying updated with motorcycle design trends, materials, and technologies will be crucial to enhance design innovation. Additionally, you will prepare and present design proposals through high-quality renders, sketches, and presentations. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field. An ideal candidate would have 2 - 3 years of experience in motorcycle design, preferably in a two-wheeler or automotive company. Strong sketching and visualization skills, proficiency in Blender for 3D modeling and rendering, and knowledge of Alias, Rhino, or Gravity Sketch are desired. Experience working with clay modeling teams for refining surface designs, understanding motorcycle ergonomics, materials, and manufacturing processes, and the ability to work in a fast-paced design environment handling multiple projects are also important. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential for this role.
