Prime Function

To lead and govern the indirect procurement function at a corporate level by developing sourcing strategies, ensuring cost optimization, standardization, compliance, and uninterrupted supply of indirect materials and services across all Sansera Engineering locations.

Job Description / Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement corporate-level indirect procurement strategy aligned with business and cost objectives.
   
2. Manage end-to-end procurement of indirect materials and services including MRO, capital goods, utilities, IT, logistics, facility management, tooling services, travel, and professional services.
   
3. Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and productivity improvement initiatives across indirect spend categories.
   
4. Establish standardized procurement processes, policies, and approval matrices across all plants.
   
5. Lead supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and performance management.
   
6. Finalize and manage rate contracts, annual negotiations, and long-term agreements with key vendors.
   
7. Ensure compliance with corporate governance, audit requirements, statutory norms, and ethical procurement practices.
   
8. Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Projects, IT, HR, and Plant teams to forecast demand and plan procurement activities.
   
9. Oversee CapEx procurement including RFQs, techno-commercial evaluations, vendor finalization, and order placement.
   
10. Monitor procurement KPIs such as cost savings, contract compliance, supplier performance, and procurement cycle time.
    
11. Handle critical supplier escalations and ensure continuity of supply across locations.
    
12. Lead and develop the indirect purchase team through coaching, performance management, and capability building.
    
13. Support digitalization and automation of procurement processes through ERP / e-procurement systems.
    

Authority

1. Approve vendor selection and rate contracts within delegated financial limits.
   
2. Negotiate commercial terms, payment conditions, and service-level agreements.
   
3. Recommend new suppliers, vendor rationalization, and spend consolidation initiatives.
   
4. Escalate and resolve procurement-related risks impacting operations or projects.
   

Job Specification / Competency

Qualification

• Bachelors degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Business Administration.
  
• MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.
  

Experience

• 1825 years of experience in indirect procurement within manufacturing / engineering organizations.
  
• Strong exposure to multi-plant and corporate procurement operations.
  

Technical & Functional Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of indirect spend categories (MRO, CapEx, services, utilities, IT, logistics).
  
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills.
  
• Understanding of finance, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  
• Knowledge of statutory, compliance, and audit requirements related to procurement.
