Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Plan and schedule all patient transport (ambulances, intra-hospital transfers, external referrals) and staff transport services.
Supervise drivers, ambulance attendants, and support staff, ensuring adequate coverage across shifts.
Coordinate with clinical departments, emergency, and support services to meet urgent and routine transport needs.
Maintain all hospital vehicles (ambulances, vans, and staff buses) in excellent working condition.
Oversee preventive maintenance, periodic servicing, insurance, pollution control, and registration renewals.
Ensure availability of medical equipment and emergency supplies in ambulances as per statutory guidelines.
Monitor fuel usage, maintenance costs, and transport budgets.
Prepare and maintain records: trip sheets, vehicle logs, incident reports, and performance metrics.
Implement infection-control protocols for patient transfers.
Conduct safety drills, driver training, and audits.

Preferred candidate profile

Any Bachelors degree.
5+ years of experience in transport/fleet management; healthcare or emergency services background desirable.
Knowledge of local/state transport laws and ambulance regulations.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
