Job Description

As an In-Process Quality Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process of small and medium power transformers. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing, implementing, and maintaining in-process quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions for manufacturing small and medium power transformers. - Conducting regular inspections, tests, and audits at different stages of the production process to identify and address non-conformities. - Utilizing quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, and SPC for root cause analysis of defects and implementing corrective and preventive actions. - Collaborating closely with production, design, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, enhance manufacturing processes, and reduce scrap and rework. - Monitoring and analyzing quality data, trends, and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and report on quality performance. - Participating in the qualification of new materials, components, and processes to ensure they meet specified quality requirements. - Providing training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. - Ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality management system requirements. - Leading and participating in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. - Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your qualifications for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. - 3-7 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably within the electrical manufacturing industry, with exposure to power transformers or similar heavy electrical equipment. - Strong understanding of transformer design, manufacturing processes, and testing standards. - Proficiency in quality management systems and tools such as ISO 9001, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem-solving. - Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using software like MS Excel and Minitab. - Certification in quality (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. - Proficiency in spoken and written English language.
