Job Description: ICT Teacher (Grades 8–10)

Role Summary

The ICT Teacher will guide students in Grades 8–10 to develop a balanced and meaningful relationship with technology. The focus will be on helping students understand computers and digital systems as tools for creation, collaboration, and problem-solving, rather than passive consumption.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging ICT lessons aligned with Waldorf pedagogy and the school’s developmental approach.
• Introduce students to concepts such as:
• Digital literacy and responsible technology use
• Fundamentals of computing and programming
• Word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
• Internet safety, cybersecurity, and digital citizenship
• Basic design, creative media, or coding projects
• Integrate ICT with other subject areas through interdisciplinary and project-based learning.
• Encourage critical and ethical perspectives on technology use.
• Maintain a supportive and interactive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with class teachers and coordinators to align ICT lessons with the broader curriculum.
• Assess student learning through qualitative observations and creative projects rather than only tests.
• Participate in faculty meetings, parent interactions, and professional development sessions when required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (preferred, though openness to mentor new teachers).
• Strong grasp of basic computing, programming logic, and digital applications.
• Interest or prior exposure to Waldorf or holistic education is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, patience, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire curiosity and responsible engagement with technology.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 3 – 4 per week
